Will the PUMAs Say “Deal or I, JUST SAY NO DEAL” to Hillary and The DNC
Where the “Information Super Highway” rules the day-to-day emotions of Americas disenfranchised voters on both sides. We can only try doing everything we can, not to be numbed by its constant and relentless speed. Hillary Clinton’s concession words were not even cold from her mouth and the “I, just say NO DEAL” movement of the PUMAs added One hundred thousand hard-core internet subscribers and a hardened battle tone to its message. Some PUMA members have adopted American Revolution war icons resembling the don’t tread on me snake, as this self-styled group has formed a mass at the center of this political battlefield and is ready for the call of attack. A conference announced for this August, may just convey the call, however battlefield lines have been drawn that push to establish the beginning of a new political gorilla warfare that utilizes the speed of information age.
While PUMAs strength grow intensity and in number, the DNC with their self-appointed Caesar find them in ever increasing striking distance of PUMAs claws. Reports of rumblings from the smoke filled back rooms at the DNC indicate that the DNC is growing weary of the PUMA chatter and this new gorilla styled tactics. We can only hope that the rumbles are heard above the self-aggrandizing back slapping at the Obama for Caesar campaign offices.
Where there are very few moments in our political history when you could point and say, this was a turning point of major proportion. With this movement, there is the distinct opportunity that this may perhaps be one of those historically defining moments. In a society that has allowed white men to snatch personal liberty from foundations of a human’s soul, PUMA has drawn line in the political sands that clearly say… I, Just Say NO DEAL. We had a choice, two candidates that come from groups that have had a history of civil oppression shackled on them by white men. Based on qualifications alone Hillary Clinton stood by herself. However, based on gender alone, men picked another man for the job. Obama’s color and qualifications had nothing to do with it; he could have been G.W. running as a Democrat for a third term and Hillary still would be where she is today.
In an era where your political meals are spoon-fed from the DNC, and nominations for presidential power are parsed from a pocketful of pre ordained super delegates it is not a good idea too bite the hand that feeds you. The family business for the Clinton’s is politics and war would not bode well for them. Which leads to many thoughts and questions; is Hillary Clinton the right candidate to embrace for this style of movement? Is PUMA going to sellout for merely table scraps of short-term political relevance and expediency? Is this just another case of political saber rattling? Further, is their a need to embrace Hillary to validate the movement? With more and more talk of Hillary 2012, are we starting to hear a giant sucking sound of PUMAs hard fought for dollars paying off the debt of the Clinton campaign further marginalizing PUMAs position.
This is where John McCain can fill the void. I hear and see that motivations will lead the movement to McCain or sit at home… why should the DNC should think that this is going happen. A choice made from free will and of true conscious, not capricious dreaming. This reminds me of a movie, The World According to Garp. Where being at the right place at the right time made the day.
Carpe Diem PUMAs… do not let emotions rule the day.
